SITE SoCal has put together some online activities to keep us connected while we’re doing our part to stay Safer at Home. Replay videos of our Wednesday Webinar Series and all other virtual events will be posted here.
On our final Stay Home with SITE Wednesday Webinar, it’s time to lose those Quarantine-15!!
Get started alongside your SITE Family as we tackle a 30-minute full body strength and conditioning boot camp. No experience or equipment necessary! Gear up in your athletic wear and shoes, and be ready to be coached by an Orange County-based personal trainer. After we sweat, we’ll reap the rewards with a toast and time for networking.
As we lead into summer, SITE SoCal will be introducing a new educational series following a format similar to our in-person luncheons. We look forward to a summer of continuing education and connection.
This week on Stay Home with SITE, our very own Past President Mandy Brown hosts us in a Virtual Meetings Workshop. Aside from former SITE Presidency and her career at Hornblower Cruises, Mandy is also a Lecturer at the L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at San Diego State University.
Through a variety of interactive breakout sessions, we will learn about creating and executing virtual meetings along with the growing opportunity of technical needs in the meetings and events space. We will also touch base on producing engaging content for your virtual meetings as well as brainstorm ideas, resources and networking innovation.
About: The L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, is among the most personalized school of its kind in developing hospitality and tourism leaders. The program encompasses two unique fields of study: hospitality and tourism management (HTM) and recreation tourism management (RTM).
HTM is business-based in curriculum and is tailored to meet both industry needs and student expectations.
RTM is centered in social science with a strong connection to community, and has been a leading program in this field since the 1950s.
All students of both fields are required to complete internship and work experience, both domestic and internationally. For more information, visit https://htm.sdsu.edu/.
FireFly Team Events invites us to a magical experience that only exists RIGHT NOW. A peek into an exclusive sanctuary that only a select few have been invited into. Join John George, International Champion of Magic, for an exclusive interactive performance of his award-winning magic show guaranteed to blow your minds. We’ll also partake in a learning session where John George will teach us a magic trick that we can perform at home!

This week on Stay Home with SITE, we presented a double header. First, we learned top tips on “How to Look Professional on Zoom” from Darlynne Mekin of Where You Want to Be Tours. Darlynne is a former News Anchor, a Team building Facilitator, and a Public Speaker/Media Coach. We learned how to make sure you are presenting yourself professionally, especially while connecting virtually.
Next up... It's time to get cookin’! You don’t have to be a Top Chef to participate in a fun Seis de Mayo cooking class with us. Fit City Adventures and Chef Nicole walked us through an interactive cooking class as we whipped up fresh Guacamole and Margaritas – because why not?
About Where You Want to Be: At Where You Want To Be, we believe in sharing the Aloha Spirit. For us, there’s nothing better than creating unique group experiences that are uplifting, inspiring and downright FUN! From our one-of-a-kind “Secret San Diego Excursions” to our Charity/Give Back Opportunities and wildly creative Scavenger Hunts, the key ingredient is ALOHA. Why ALOHA? Although it’s commonly used as a simple greeting, it’s so much more. Aloha is the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy. As a wise writer once said, “always be kind and compassionate to one another.” This is something we strive hard to incorporate into each of our adventures. It’s our hope that when you’re with us, you’ll experience the true meaning of Aloha and say to yourself “I’m exactly where I want to be!” Website: https://wheretours.com/ Contact: Darlynne Menkin, 619.917.6037,
