LOVE, SERVE, CARE: SITE SoCal’s Commitment to Giving Back in 2018

Thank you to our SITE SoCal community for your support with an overwhelmingly successful Holiday Event! We were able to donate $34,485.92 to The Rock Club, Music Is The Remedy and $34,485.92 to Donovan’s Smile at our Installation Dinner in January. Since our inception, over $2 million in donations from our Holiday Events and other fundraising efforts have been raised to give back to local and grassroots charities in Southern California.

Here are our two areas of focus for 2018: hands-on activities for local grassroots charities, and familiarizing ourselves with more local, grassroots charities.

Two years ago, one of our loyal members, Luci Nilson of Experian shared her story about her son Henry whom has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The Nilson family relies on CureDuchenne Cares for research and support, among many other families in Southern California. Since being selected in 2016 as a Holiday Event Recipient, our SITE SoCal community has continued to support CureDuchenne Cares with hands on volunteer opportunities. Luci stated, “The SITE SoCal support was a huge difference to the CureDuchenne Cares program and really cemented its future.”

As we echo at the Holiday Event every single year, “it’s all about the charities.” We want to uncover and learn about additional non-profits that are close to our SITE SoCal community, or those who have given back to you, your family, or colleagues. Do you have a charity of importance to you or your family? Please be sure to share with Jamie Lee Tiffany, VP Community Outreach at .

This March we will be welcoming Gently Hugged to our SITE SoCal Luncheon at Pendry, San Diego.
