Site SoCal is implementing a new Mentoring Program. Now, in “my day”, that would be called Hooking Up. But as the mother of a teenager, I know I may have raised some eyebrows with this section title! If I have your attention, you may very well be a Young Leader reading here, and this new program is meant for you. It’s also meant for anyone who is finding it challenging to meet new people or make useful industry connections.

The idea is simple – make arrangements before the next meeting you are attending to meet with your Mentor ten minutes early so you can walk in to the event together. Then, your Mentor will introduce you to their circle of friends and associates.

If you two find the match works, maybe you keep a dialogue going over the next few months. Maybe you find each other again at the next meeting to meet more people. Or, maybe you choose another Mentor for the next meeting. There are no rules, the program will develop organically – IF YOU PARTICIPATE.

Certainly one reason you are attending the Site Luncheons is Networking. Here’s a way to really make it work. There’s no reason not to participate . . . so ACT NOW!
