Nikki Nestor, President
WORLD CLASS Travel by Invitation
Nikki Nestor lived abroad in Asia and Latin American for a good deal of her early life where she developed her unquenchable thirst and deep appreciation of travel. As the daughter of a military officer/diplomat, she discovered and experienced the personal enrichment of being exposed to unique cultures during her family’s foreign assignments.
After excelling in academics - and athletics - at the University of Colorado, in 1965 she graduated with a BA degree in political science and economics. At that time, opportunities for women with a college education were limited, so she forged her own path. Desiring to interface with the public, she took a service representative position with AT&T, and learned the business applications and work experience necessary to move forward to new challenges.
Hired as a sales representative with a U.S. airline, Ms. Nestor was one of the first women to hold that position in the industry. Ms. Nestor was involved in marketing and sales in for almost 2 decades for 3 major U.S. air carriers. Seeking more career variety, she entered the event planning arena working with a wide variety of high-end resorts and corporate clients.
Continuing her work in the travel industry, Ms. Nestor established WORLD CLASS Travel by Invitation in 1991 with Ben Cherski, husband/partner and CFO. The company has created, planned and operated top value meetings, special interest groups and corporate incentive travel programs featuring 5-star luxury hotels, resorts and cruises in over 30 + countries around the globe.
Capable of organizing events of any length anywhere in the world, Nikki and her incredibly competent and professional staff strive to match clients with the perfect environments for rewarding, memorable, once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences which are crafted to exceed guest expectations. It’s a real family endeavor as both her daughter and granddaughter work with WORLD CLASS on-site.
A 20-year member of Site (Society of Incentive & Travel Executives) a global professional association, Ms. Nestor has served as a Southern California Chapter Board Advisor for the last 4 years, and is currently Vice President of Communications for 2012. In this capacity, she has recently completed a new chapter website and newsletter. Ms. Nestor has also been invited to serve as an advisor to luxury hotel groups and cruise lines.
In January, Nikki was elected Chair of the Cruising America Coalition which seeks to reverse the loss of 20,000 shore-based and maritime jobs due to the recent reduction of West Coast cruises to Mexico (approximately $2m is generated at each port-of-call).
Nikki enjoys gardening, yoga, entertaining friends and family and the enviable San Diego lifestyle.
